wuhuhu...
They sat in front of me waiting for me to say or do something. I just looked at them blankly, not knowing how to communicate with them as Sabrina had warned me just minutes ago they were mute. Both mother and daughter. The whole table for registration which was in charge by Nads, a junior and I were all quiet. Finally, trying my best to use my-next-to-nothing knowledge of sign languages, I communicated with them, asking which screening test they wanted to do and their identity cards. Thanks to Rani Mukerjee in Black, they understood whatever I was saying to them. It was just so heartbreaking for me when I couldn't really converse with them like what I do with the other patients (knowing how talkative I am). The most tear-jerking part was when I asked her phone number and since she couldn't speak I told her to fill in the numbers herself and at the end of the numbers she wrote 'please sms only'. Wuhuhu..
